How to Set Up and Manage Channels in Convoe

Channels are the foundation of communication in Convoe. They help organize conversations by topic, project, or team.

Creating a channel

Click the + button next to "Channels" in the sidebar. Give your channel a name and description. Choose whether it should be public (visible to everyone) or private (invite only).

Channel naming tips

  • Use clear, descriptive names (#marketing-campaigns, not #mc)
  • Add prefixes for organization (#proj-website, #team-design)
  • Keep names lowercase with hyphens

Suggested starter channels

  • #general - Company-wide announcements
  • #random - Casual conversation and fun
  • #help - Questions and support
  • Project-specific channels as needed

Channel settings

Each channel has settings for notifications, pinned messages, and member management. Channel admins can archive channels that are no longer active.
